The Kenyan Ministry of health has categorized HIV/AIDs, Malaria, Mental health and depression and reproductive health amongst teenage girls and young mothers as the main challenges burdening the health system in Kenya. The latest Kenya Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (KENPHIA) survey indicates that Kenya’s HIV prevalence stands at 4.9%, malaria prevalence is estimated at 3.5 million new clinical cases and 10,700 deaths each year, 1 in every 10 people have presented with mental health cases associated with depression and anxiety disorders, while reproductive health remains poor with teenage pregnancy rate estimated at 18%, and contraceptive prevalence rate among sexually active, unmarried girls aged 15–19 years at 49%.

There is only one Government owned properly functioning and equipped mental health institution in Kenya’s capital Nairobi burdened by all mental cases from all parts of the Country. There is a staggering huge numbers of unattended mental cases while cases of depression and anxiety disorders continue to be associated with most deaths and mental illnesses.

The foundation seeks to fill this gap by complementing Government health programs to address the health challenges. Some of the programs championed by the foundation include; mental health campaigns and sustainability programs, reproductive health campaigns and supply provisions such as sanitary towels for teenage girls, malaria programs and research and HIV/ AIDs intervention programs and community support for those affected and infected by the scourge. We also hold mental health and depression counselling and psychiatric sessions/ clinics in support of the mental health agenda.
