Our Story
Who we are
BELFON FOUNDATION, whose full name stands for Better Life For the Needy Foundation, is a community based non-government organization, fully registered with the Kenya Government.
BELFON FOUNDATION is an indigenous foundation, started in February 2012 with the initiative of Isaac Oron from Kisumu County and registered with the Kenya government in May
2013.
The major objective of the Organization then was of essential education services to the children, supporting vulnerable families within and around the community and to set up an orphanage recreation centre, school and empowering the needy families. Specific activities to achieve this objective included; community mobilization and sensitization, home visiting and health care, monitoring families with such children/ families and support supervision, resource mobilization and planning among others.
The organization decided to address education development issues more directly and the need to effectively identify the families in such kind of challenges. In early 2013,
BELFON FOUNDATION recognized the need to broaden the scope of the interventions to cover social economic poverty issues and health in a holistic and sustainable manner.
BELFON FOUNDATION has made a long-term plan that considers the root causes of insufficient education, poverty and health care to be the key project areas, as there are many orphans, street children, and needy families with low level of community awareness on Education and empowerment.
